Every day, trucks drive in and out on their way to their assigned dock to deliver their cargo there. This is where your role as a warehouse employee begins. You're ready with the pallet truck to unload the truck smoothly and quickly. Of course, you do this together with your team. After unloading, you make sure the pallets end up in the right place within the warehouse. At the same time, your colleagues are also loading the truck again so it can quickly get back on the road. This means the pallet trucks are constantly crossing back and forth through the warehouse. That's why it's important that you can handle a pallet truck well, or are willing to learn. Some companies work with groupage shipments, where smaller orders are combined to fill up a truck. When working with this type of shipment, it's important that you know how to read loading lists and stickers. This way, you make sure the right pallets end up in the right trucks. At other companies, order picking is also part of your tasks. Here you pick crates from the pallets to prepare a complete order for shipment.
