For one of our clients, we are looking for a working foreman in groundskeeping. In this role, you are responsible for directing and guiding a great team of at least 2 assistant gardeners. Together with your team, you head out to make sure your maintenance district looks its absolute best. You lead your team and ensure the work is carried out correctly. Together, you make sure the grass is truly greener. Besides carrying out assigned tasks, you're also alert to spots that need maintenance yourself. You raise these observations during meetings with the district manager, so action can be taken. Once a job is completed, you report back to the site supervisor. Good communication skills are therefore essential, both with your colleagues and with supervisors.
On top of that, you're always ready to roll up your sleeves and get to work yourself, whether it's picking up the brushcutter, working with hedge shears, or using a hoe. You lead by setting a good example. Seeing the immediate results of your work is what makes you feel good.
- Directing and guiding employees
- Reporting to the site supervisor and holding meetings with the district manager
- Constructing, renovating, and maintaining green spaces and parks, sports fields, and corporate gardens
- Planting trees, shrubs, and perennials
- Removing weeds
- Mowing greenery and paved areas
- You are the first point of contact at the work location
- Carrying out (light) administrative tasks for hour registration
- You contribute to carrying out the work, from operating a brushcutter to doing tasks with manual tools
