For one of our clients, we are looking for a working foreman in green space maintenance. In this role, you are responsible for directing and supervising a great team of at least 2 assistant gardeners. Together with your team, you go out to ensure that your maintenance area looks top-notch. You direct your team and make sure the work is done properly. Together you make sure the grass is truly greener. In addition to carrying out the tasks assigned to you, you are also alert to spots where maintenance is needed yourself. You raise these observations during discussions with the area manager, so action can be taken. Once a job is completed, you report to the supervisor. Good communication skills are therefore important, both towards your colleagues and towards supervisors.
Besides that, you are also eager to roll up your sleeves and pick up the brush cutter yourself, get to work with the hedge trimmer, or use a hoe. You lead by setting a good example. Seeing the immediate results of your work is something you enjoy.
- Directing and supervising employees
- Reporting to the supervisor and holding discussions with the area manager
- Constructing, renovating, and maintaining public gardens and parks, sports fields, and company gardens
- Planting trees, shrubs, and perennials
- Removing weeds
- Mowing greenery and paved areas
- You are the first point of contact at the work location
- Carrying out (light) administrative tasks for hours registration
- You contribute to carrying out the work. From working with a brush cutter to tasks using hand tools
