Our client is one of the most modern soft fruit packing stations in all of Europe. This is because they are equipped with ultra-modern sorting and packaging machines and large cold storage rooms. With the short packaging turnaround time, they ensure a longer shelf life and good quality for the soft fruit.
As assistant team leader logistics, you are the link between the logistics team and management. You direct employees, monitor progress, and actively participate in all logistics processes yourself. You are responsible for the correct loading, unloading, and storage of goods, including managing customer fruit and packaging materials. You lead by example for your team and oversee compliance with procedures and safety regulations.
A typical workday starts with distributing tasks and instructing your team. You oversee the unloading of trucks and containers, check orders, and ensure everything is done according to customer instructions. You have a lot of contact with drivers and other departments and intervene immediately when problems arise or improvements are possible. In addition to working on the floor, you are also actively involved in optimizing logistics processes together with your colleagues from production and quality control.
Directly supervising logistics employees and carrying out logistics activities under the supervision of the Team Leader / Head of Logistics
Direct contact with customers (mainly in English)
Managing the correct loading and unloading of orders from all trucks, containers, and other goods.
Correct intake of all customer fruit and inventory management.
Scanning skills, splitting pallets, and making small adjustments to orders.
Identifying improvements and problems in order to optimize activities within the logistics department.
Complying with and enforcing company, health, and safety rules. Enforcing rules regarding clocking in/out, breaks, clothing, and safety regulations
